Day 9 – Gisors to Cergy

Not much time this morning so a brief blog with pictures. Yesterday’s ride was great – nice rolling countryside and lots of variation. Andy’s chain broke at one point but Rich fixed it with his fancy mechanical skills.

It rained most of the morning but we didn’t really mind as we had good clothes for it and it was quite cooling, and then it cleared up after lunch. We arrived in Cergy to find it was a terrifically bleak place, and decided I would drive everyone into Paris to show Shaun where the car park was and that Paris wasn’t that awful to drive in. Comically we got stuck in a 3 hour traffic jam as the bridges were mostly closed by police galore. Still – we had a wander around St Germain, found the car park, and had a nice meal – then came back to our hovel for 10pm and bed.
